Internacional Seminar on Research in Art and Visual Culture
The International Research Seminar on Visual Art and Culture is an event held by the Graduate Programs “Arte e Cultura Visual” (PPGACV-UFG, Brazil) and “Maestría en Arte y Cultura Visual” (Facultad de Artes – UDELAR, Uruguay ), and is aimed at researchers and graduate students in art, visual culture and related areas, interested in the dialogue, cooperation and dissemination of their projects and research.
The event was held for the first time in 2000, with the aim of disseminating and promoting dialogues and discussions about the teaching and student production of the Faculty of Visual Arts <https://fav.ufg.br/>. As of 2003, in its fourth edition, the Seminar was held by the Graduate Program in Visual Art and Culture (PPGACV) <https://culturavisual.fav.ufg. br>, recently implemented at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) which, from then on, assumed the responsibility of planning and giving continuity to the event. In 2008, the Seminar became a national event and included graduate programs, researchers, master's and doctoral students from the country, expanding dialogue and reinforcing the debate on issues in the field of research in art, poetics and visual culture. In 2017, the event became international and was held in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay), in partnership with Núcleo de Investigación en Cultura Visual, Educación y Construcción de Identidad (IENBA-UDELAR) <http://www.enba.edu .uy>. On the occasion, it was established that the Seminar will be held annually between the cities of Montevideo (UDELAR) and Goiânia (FAV/UFG).
